As pictured above, the main character(Sara) in 'The Roommate' is an attractive, dark haired character who continuously shows elements of independence, confidence and secure relationships. In this film, she is often shown alone in her room enjoying her own company studying or reading. This is similar to the character in our production as we show Eleanor constantly alone, either writing, talking on the phone of listening to music. These elements in a character often suggest that the character is capable of taking care of themselves in an isolated situation however they are also vulnerable to what could be lurking around/behind them or watching them, as they are so involved in their own privacy.
We aim for our main character (Eleanor) to be shown as an independent person whom is getting over a break up in her own way and enjoying her own company, in this way she could be seen in a positive light however as mentioned above, the key flaw in her actions will be that due to being so emotionally and mentally involved in her current emotions and activities, she becomes unaware of the threats which potentially are going to harm her.
Within 'The Roommate' we discover that an ex-boyfriend is a recurring issue within Sara's life and is often shown trying to call or contact her. Although the ex boyfriend is not the threat in this film, the reactions that Sara has to this person who seems to be irritating her should be considered when making our production.
